Karen Dale Pressley, beloved younger sister of Sheryl Pressley Causey and Wayne Eugene
Pressley went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 12, 2017, an answer to prayer. She was
preceded in death by her Father, Raymond Eugene Pressley, in 1990, and her Mother, Mildred
Jones Pressley, in 2010, both of whom she longed to see again.
Karen is survived by Sheryl Causey (Jerry), Wayne Pressley (Marie), nephews, Jason Causey
(Shannon) and Christopher Jerrod Pressley and nieces, Heather Causey Davis (Robby),
Whitney Pressley (Jason Hulan) and Dawn Lachance (Rob). She is also survived by her...

Pressley went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 12, 2017, an answer to prayer. She was
preceded in death by her Father, Raymond Eugene Pressley, in 1990, and her Mother, Mildred
Jones Pressley, in 2010, both of whom she longed to see again.
Karen is survived by Sheryl Causey (Jerry), Wayne Pressley (Marie), nephews, Jason Causey
(Shannon) and Christopher Jerrod Pressley and nieces, Heather Causey Davis (Robby),
Whitney Pressley (Jason Hulan) and Dawn Lachance (Rob). She is also survived by her great
nephews and great nieces, Will Davis, C.J. Pressley, Eli Pressley, Meredith Causey Arrington,
Taylor Causey and Sydney Davis, who all loved her as their "Auntna", and her cousins, Kenneth
Pressley (Susie), Gary Pressley (Carolyn). and Billie Savage.
Karen was born in Nashville, TN on December 2, 1953. She was raised in the South Dekalb
area of DeKalb County, GA and attended Toney Elementary and Gordon High School. She
worked for Big Apple/Food Giant, R & R Communications and others. She was a faithful
member of the Lake Oconee Community Bible Study and was also a member of the Oconee
River Basin Walk to Emmaus Community, both in Eatonton, GA
Karen succumbed to Glioblastoma brain cancer after having suffered 35 months of radiation
and chemotherapy treatments. She outlived her initial prognosis of 12-15 months by the Grace
of God, the excellent care she received at Emory University Hospital and Clinic and the love and
care of her family and friends.
There will be a graveside service officiated by Rev. Steve Murray at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June
24, 2017 in the Garden of the Resurrection at Fairview Memorial Gardens on E. Atlanta Rd. In
Stockbridge, GA where she will be interred at her Father's feet. Inurnment services are being
provided by Horis Ward Funeral Home of Stockbridge, GA. It was Karen's wish that, in lieu of
flowers, anyone who wishes to do so would make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or
to the American Cancer Society.
