Jeffrey (Jeff) Craig Elam passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the age of 41 at Emory University Hospital.
Jeff was born to parents Gary and Pat Elam on February 24, 1976, in Portsmouth, VA. His early years were spent in Virginia Beach before moving with his family to Lake City, GA, in 1984. He grew up as the curious and determined middle child of three before becoming a father to the apple of his eye, Felicia (aka KID'O), in 1994. While his stubborn nature and perpetual tardiness were often the source of family jokes, his infectious laughter, love of sports, willingness to help others, and devotion to his family and friends are the traits he'll be most remembered for.
In 2014, Jeff met Jennifer Stowers, who had three children from a previous marriage. Their romance was love at first sight. Since meeting, they've been inseparable and have enjoyed many sporting events, family trips, and quality time at home with friends and family. Jeff and Jennifer were married in September 2016 and lived in Carrollton, GA, with her three children. Jeff loved Shelly, Samantha, and Bo as his own and encouraged all of his kids to follow their dreams and live life to the fullest.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Felicia; his step-children, Shelly, Samantha, and Bo; his mother, Pat; his father, Gary; his sisters, Missy and Liz; and niece, Emily.
A viewing will be held at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel in Stockbridge, GA, on Saturday, June 17, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at the same location. The family is grateful for condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bert's Big Adventure.
